How many people will sit

The rule of thumb is 70 cm of width per person. For 6 people a 2-metre table works; for 8, 2.4 m; for 10 to 12, 3 m or more. If the room is used with laptops and documents, add depth.

How much space is left around it

Leave at least 90 cm between the table and the wall so someone can walk behind an occupied chair. This is the most common mistake: choosing the table for the empty room and then not being able to move around.

Whether you need power

When the room is used for working and not only for meeting, a power module on the surface pays off. It avoids extension cords across the floor and makes the room usable for long sessions.

Meeting or training

A training room needs modules that can be reconfigured: in a U for classes, separated for group work. A modular format beats one large table there.
