Office desk measurements: what companies in Chile ask for (sales data 2025-2026)

We analyzed the rectangular covers that Dunati sold between January 2025 and October 2026. The most requested desk measurements are 60 × 120 cm (28%) and 70 × 140 cm (20%); 57% are 70 cm deep or more; and in orders with 1 to 5 seats, 44% choose 160 cm in length or more, versus 10% in those with 20 seats or more. Novo (white), Strato (light wood) and special laminates make up 75% of the finishes.

¿Qué medida de escritorio piden de verdad las empresas en Chile? Revisamos las rectangular covers that we sold at Dunati between January 2025 and October 2026. 82% are desk covers; the rest, meeting tables and small covers. This article summarizes what measurements, what backgrounds and what finishes were chosen, how that changes depending on the size of the order and what is best depending on the use.

In a nutshell:

  • Most requested measurements:60 × 120 cm (28% of desk covers) and 70 × 140 cm (20%). If you count only the laminate ones, the first one is 70 × 140 cm.
  • Background:57% of roofs are 70 cm deep or more. The 60 cm depth is the one that appears in the most orders (51%), but in units it is surpassed by the 70 cm depth.
  • Few seats, longer desk:For 1-5 seat orders, 44% of covers are 160cm long or longer. In those with 20 positions or more, only 10%.
  • Terminations:Novo (white), Strato (light wood) and special laminates make up 75% of the covers. Large orders go to white (68%); the boys, to wood (58%).

At Dunati we manufacture and sell these desks, so we are interested in the subject. That's why we show where each figure comes from and what it doesn't measure.

Methodology: where do these figures come from?

  • Fountain:Dunati's confirmed sales orders in Chile, as recorded in our management system. Does not include quotes that were not finalized.
  • Period:covers sold by Dunati between January 2025 and October 2026. The year 2026 is incomplete.
  • What was told:the rectangular covers that are sold as a separate piece, with its measurement and finish in the code. A “desk cover” is called something that is up to 80 cm deep and 100 cm long or more: they make up 82.4% of the total. Those 90 cm deep or more were taken as meeting or shared work tables (11.5%) and those less than 100 cm long were considered small covers (6.0%).
  • What was left out:round and shaped tops, custom-made furniture and line desks sold complete, with top included. In the latter, the most requested measurement is also 70 × 140 cm, so they do not change the result.
  • Order size:is the number of desk covers in each order, which we use as an approximation to the number of seats.
  • How to read percentages:"% of covers" counts units, so a large order weighs more. “% of orders” counts how many orders included that option, regardless of size – it shows what more companies choose.
  • Privacy:The figures are aggregated. Clients, amounts or groups with few units are not published.

Important:These are Dunati sales, not the entire Chilean market. They reflect the companies that purchased from us and the measures we offer.

Base: Desk covers sold by Dunati between January 2025 and October 2026. An order can include several measurements, which is why the last column does not add up to 100%.

The most sold size is 60 × 120 cm, but you have to read it carefully: a good part of that volume comes from a few large melamine orders. If only laminate tops are counted, the order changes:70 × 140 cm comes first (21%), followed by 60 × 120 cm (14%) and 70 × 120 cm (13%).

Counting orders and not units, the distribution is more even: 60 × 120 cm appears in 21% of the orders, 70 × 140 cm in 18% and 70 × 160 cm in 15%. Almost all desk tops (92%) are between 100 and 160 cm long, and 89% are 60 or 70 cm deep.

The length of 120 cm dominates in units because it is the one for large orders. But the length that appears in most orders is160cm (35%), almost tied with 120 cm (34%) and 140 cm (30%). In depth, 60 and 70 cm share the volume almost equally, and one in every five orders includes at least one 80 cm cover.

The first two columns tell what share of orders and desk covers fall into each group; The rest are percentages of the covers of each group. “Wood tone” and “white tone” group line finishes and special laminates according to their color; the rest are gray, black or other.

Large orders, 20 seats or more, are few, but they account for more than half of the covers. That's why they weigh so much in the totals. The differences between groups are clear:

  • Small orders choose longer desks. For orders of 1 to 5 seats, 44% of covers are 160 cm or larger. When few positions are purchased, more space is given to each one.
  • Large orders standardize. With 20 or more seats, 38% of the covers are 60 × 120 cm and only 10% reach 160 cm. In an open floor plan, each centimeter of length is multiplied by the number of seats.
  • The background does not depend so much on the size.In all groups, more than half of the decks are 70 cm deep or more.
  • Madera en lo chico, blanco en lo grande. In orders of up to 19 seats, more than half of the covers are in wood tone. With 20 or more positions, two out of three are blank.
  • Melamine is the high volume option.Orders for up to 19 seats were almost all laminate (98% or more). Melamine is chosen especially for high-volume projects.

Newis the completion with the most units (32%), butStratoIt is the one chosen by most companies: it appears in 36% of orders. Novo weighs more in volume because it is the usual choice for large orders.

Casi uno de cada tres pedidos incluye un special laminate: a color or wood that is not in the standard line and that the client chooses, for example to fit the palette of their office or their brand. Melamine, almost always white, is the choice for high-volume projects: it appears in 3% of orders, but makes up almost 20% of covers.

If the terminations are grouped by color, theWhite makes up 51% of the covers and wood 38%.. But counting orders is reversed: 59% of orders include some cover in wood tone and 29%, some in white. All line terminations can be seen on thelaminate library.

Each order counts once. 2026 runs until October.

In 2026 there were fewer, but larger, orders. Therefore, counting units, the weight of the 120 cm covers increases (from 30% to 49%) and the white one. Counting orders, the trend is the opposite:more companies choose 160 cm desks and 80 cm depths, y el de 100 cm pierde terreno. Entre las terminaciones, crecen los laminados especiales. Es una tendencia de dos años de ventas de una empresa: sirve como señal, no como regla.

Width calculated only for the panel, in 16:9 format (21:9 in ultrawide), without counting frames or feet. The suggested length leaves room on the sides for documents, telephone or lamp.
  • For two monitors, 140 to 160 cm.Two 24-inch screens are about 106 cm wide: they fit in 120 cm, but without space on the sides. 70 × 140 cm, the most sold laminate size, is the starting point; with two 27-inch screens, 160 cm.
  • 70 cm depth if there are large screens. With a depth of 60 cm, a 24-inch screen is at a comfortable distance. With screens 27 inches or larger, or with two screens at an angle, 70 cm gives you room to move them further away without leaving them on the edge. It is the choice of 57% of covers.
  • For operational positions in volume, 60 × 120 or 70 × 120 cm.This is what is chosen for orders of 20 seats or more: it is enough for a monitor and a notebook and allows for more seats per floor. To calculate how many will fit, use the guideoffice measurements.
  • For management, 160 to 180 cm and depth of 80 cm.This is what you see in the small orders and in the management desks that we sell.
  • For the color, white in large plants and wood in small spaces. It is the pattern of the data. White brightens an open floor plan with many stalls; Wood gives warmth to a small office or management room.

Which Dunati desks come in these sizes?

We manufacture the covers in Chile, in 25 mm MDF with high pressure laminate; The metal structures are imported. The desks have5 years warranty.

  • ArkoandVersa: operating desks 60 or 70 cm deep and 100 to 200 cm long, which cover most of the measurements in this study. They serve for individual positions and forteam desks.
  • Prism,Diamond,LegacyandEdge: management series, for the longest and deepest desks.
  • lift: electric height-adjustable desk, for working sitting or standing.
  • Custom desks: when the space does not fit a standard measurement or a special shape is needed. The process is explained inwhat we custom manufacture in Chile.

Dunati is an office planning and equipment company, with history since 1977 and in Chile since 2016. If you want to see the completions in person or quote with a plan, you canwrite to us.

What is the standard measurement of an office desk?

There is not just one, but in Dunati's sales of 2025 and 2026 the most ordered was 60 × 120 cm (28% of desk covers), followed by 70 × 140 cm (20%). 92% of desks are between 100 and 160 cm long and 89% are 60 or 70 cm deep. The sitting working height is about 74 cm.

What size desk do I need for two monitors?

For two 24-inch monitors, 140 cm long; for two 27 inches, 160 cm. Two 24-inch screens measure about 106 cm wide, so they fit in 120 cm, but without free space on the sides. With large screens, a depth of 70 cm is also advisable, to keep them out of sight.

What background should an office desk have?

60 cm is the usual minimum for a position with a monitor and notebook. 70 cm is suitable with screens of 27 inches or more, or with two screens, and 80 cm is used in management. In the covers we sold in 2025 and 2026, 43% were 60cm deep, 46% were 70cm deep, and 11% were 80cm deep.

What color cover is best for an office?

In our sales, orders of 20 seats or more were 68% white, and orders of 1 to 5 seats were 58% wood. The most chosen finishes are Novo (smooth white) and Strato (light wood). Nearly one in three orders includes a special, off-the-line laminate to fit the company's palette; Half of those specialty laminates are light woods, such as oak, maple or elm.

Is a melamine or laminate top better?

High-pressure laminate resists rubbing, knocks and daily use better than melamine, and is the material for Dunati line covers: 25 mm MDF with high-pressure laminate, manufactured in Chile and with a 5-year warranty. In our sales, 81% of desk tops were laminate. Melamine, almost always white, is the option chosen especially by high-volume projects, with 20 seats or more.
